What if there was one thing that we could do that would bring peace and calm to our community, Nation and World?
What will heal our community, Nation and world will be love.
There are two dominant words in this section: love and command.
Why do we have to be commanded to love?
Love is not always good easy. Love is not always convenient. Love is not always comfortable.
Look to the cross to see the greatest demonstration of love.
Jesus said, “this is my command that you love one another as I have loved you.”
We are commanded to abide in Gods love.
Sometimes we have to stop and remind ourselves that Christ really loves us.
Christ has loved us from before the foundation of the world.
If we love as Christ loves we will love the hurting, the sick, the good, the bad… if we love as Christ loves we will love EVERYONE.
A life filled with joy comes from a life of obedience to Christ and love for one another.
When God’s people overflow with Christ’s love we become an irresistible force to our community, our Nation and our world.
We are called to die to ourselves for the glory of God and the good of other people.
You are a friend of God if you do what Christ commands.
As Christians we are chosen ones.
As Christians we are commissioned ones sent out to bear fruit.
Jesus said, “these things I have commanded you that you love one another.”
