The call to Christian commitment is found in Romans 12:1-2
Do you ever feel overwhelmed with the task of living the Christian life?
The Christian life is daunting and difficult but a joyous and worthwhile endeavor.
Paul pleads with us to give our heart to Jesus.
Paul wants Christians to understand that following Christ is not joyless but joyful.
There is joy in following Jesus.
Following Jesus is not a have to but a get to.
God wants us to be happy.
Paul urges us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice. Everyday we lay our lives down to the Lord as a living sacrifice.
When we pass the plate for our tithes and offering we are given an opportunity to give our sacrifice. We are given an opportunity to give to the work of growing the Kingdom of God.
It is to our Creator that we give our lives as a living sacrifice.
Anything less than a complete commitment to God is not acceptable.
When we look at the cross and remember what Christ did and the price He paid for me anything less than all is not reasonable.
An absolute and total commitment to Him is our reasonable service.
Imagine a world filled with Christians living as a living sacrifice to God. How much different would our world be?
Do not be conformed to the world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.
We must make a conscious effort by the power of the Holy Spirit to stop being conformed by the world.
We need the Holy Spirits help to be transformed to look more like Chris. We can’t do it in our own power.
We can’t make ourselves into anything but if we surrender ourselves to Jesus He will transform us.
When we surrender ourselves to God He has a plan and a purpose far beyond anything we could ask or imagine.
