Our Pastoral Staff
Senior Pastor Eddie Honeycutt
Greetings from the staff of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville. I have been privileged to serve as senior pastor of this warm and friendly congregation since August of 2006. We extend to you an open invitation to join our church family here at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville. As a family we love one another and work together to provide an atmosphere where everyone can feel welcome, loved, and accepted.
Let me introduce you to my family. Patty and I were married in 1974 and have three children and four grandchildren. Our daughter Angel is married to Jason Dorsett and they live in Mount Airy, NC. Angel is an office manager and Jason is the principal at J.J. Jones Intermediate School. They are proud parents of three children, Christopher, Evan, and Elizabeth. They are all actively involved in the ministries of Bannertown Baptist Church. Our oldest son Cory is married to Amy McCall and they live in Dobson N.C. where Cory serves as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church of Dobson. They have one son, Rhett. Jared, our youngest, lives at home and is employed in the corporate office of Amaar Garage Doors. I am truly blessed with a wonderful wife and we both are blessed with a wonderful family.
We have been privileged to serve in three other ministries prior to coming to First Baptist of Stanleyville. Our first ministry was in Hiddenite, NC where I pastored Sulphur Springs Baptist Church from 1985 to 1991. Our second was in Mount Airy, NC where I served as pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church from 1991 to 2003. Our third ministry was in Martinsville, VA where I served as Director of Missions for the Henry County Baptist Association from 2004 to 2006.
We are very excited to be a part of this church family and look forward to what God has in store. Please come and join with us as we worship and serve the Lord together.

Associate Pastor Ed Locke, Minister of Music and Worship
I want to extend a warm welcome to you to come and be a part of the music ministry here at Stanleyville. God continues to send a lot of tremendously talented people to this church. I pray that never ends! Those involved in the music ministry are sold out to Jesus, and it shows! I am so excited to be here with you and to join in what God is doing right here on Ziglar Road.
Here is my family. Donna and I have been married for 25 years this year, and we do not have any children. We have a Jack Russell Terrier named Fred. We have just celebrated 5 years here at FBCS as of July 1, 2012. We are so glad to be here at this time and place. Donna is a Teacher’s Assistant at the Children’s Center on Reynolda Road, and she really loves it. She truly is the love of my life, and I would marry Donna all over again.
I began my ministry in September 1984 at Southside Baptist Church Winston Salem, North Carolina. It was there I met Donna and was ordained to the ministry. We were married and stayed until 1989. We went to Rocky Mount, NC to Englewood Baptist Church 1989-1997. Next, we served at Denver Baptist Church in Denver, NC 1997-2007. Then God said it was time to move to Stanleyville and be a part of you wonderful folks. Again, we are very blessed to be a part of the church family here at Stanleyville First Baptist.
Colossians 3:16 & 17 KJV states:
Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom… teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual songs singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.
This is my heart’s desire for everyone involved in the music ministry, and there is room for you! Let’s praise the Lord together in the choir, and in every group in the music ministry. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do through each of us!
